City Hall

Casa Grande is a city of approximately 45,000 residents with a rich rural heritage. Founded in 1879, Casa Grande was named for the famous Hohokam Indian Ruins 20 miles to the northeast. A diverse array of state and national monuments and parks, paying tribute to the cultural heritage and Sonoran Desert environment, are within an hour's drive of the community. Casa Grande's economic base is a mix of retail trade, manufacturing, and agriculture.

Arial view of community

The community began experiencing major growth in 2004, and this growth is transforming the community as major residential and commercial developments are completed. Included in the major commercial projects that have been completed are a new 1,000,000 square foot regional mall and a number of dining and retail establishments. The city's close proximity to the major metropolitan areas of Phoenix and Tucson and its location at the intersection of two interstate highways is a major source of the growth that is underway. The mild climate and scenic attractions also make it attractive to tourists as well as to winter visitors.
