2016-2017 Model-IT Program
Model Instructional Technology Classrooms serve as an example of how technology can be effectively integrated into the curriculum. The teacher participants receive professional development opportunities throughout the year. Continuing teacher participants from 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 have the opportunity to mentor first year Model-IT participants, provide monthly professional development opportunities to staff at their school site, and open their classrooms throughout the school year for district-wide observations. The 2016-2017 participants are anticipated to open their classrooms to site-based observations in Fall 2017.

2016-2017 Goals:
  1. Offer demonstration classrooms for observation opportunities at multiple school sites to demonstrate how technology can be effectively integrated into the curriculum.

  2. Expand the knowledge and practice of effective technology integration practices at Cottonwood, Desert Willow, Evergreen, Ironwood, Cactus Middle School, and Casa Grande Middle School by having the continuing Model-IT Classroom teachers provide optional professional development to the staff at each of these schools at minimum once per month.

  3. Develop eleven additional Model-IT Classrooms during the 2016-2017 school year in order to provide site-based demonstration classrooms, beginning August 2017, for the use of instructional technology.  This will expand the current Model-IT Classrooms from twelve to twenty-three classrooms.
